Antumbra 0.1.0: available now

The first public release: prebuilt installers for macOS, Linux and Windows, the source on GitHub under the Elastic License 2.0, and one command to set it up.

Antumbra is available. Version 0.1.0 is the first public release, and the source is on GitHub under the Elastic License 2.0.

Install it

The installer puts the antumbra command on your PATH. No Rust needed.

# macOS and Linux
curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -LsSf https://github.com/albedosehen/antumbra/releases/latest/download/antumbra-cli-installer.sh | sh
# Windows
irm https://github.com/albedosehen/antumbra/releases/latest/download/antumbra-cli-installer.ps1 | iex

Builds cover macOS on Apple silicon and Intel, Linux on x86-64 and ARM, and Windows on x86-64. MSI packages, archives and checksums are on the release page.

Set it up

With Docker and ollama running, from a clone of the repository (setup builds the server from it):

git clone https://github.com/albedosehen/antumbra.git
cd antumbra
antumbra setup local

Against a hosted workspace, you need no clone: antumbra setup hosted <url> --token-file <file>. Or paste this into Claude Code and let it do the work:

Set up Antumbra for me by following https://antumbrahq.ai/setup.md

What’s in it

  • One-command setup that checks what is installed, starts the store and the server, mints a token, proves recall works with it, and connects Claude Code. It backs up your settings and only adds to them.
  • Hooks that recall at the start of each session and with each prompt, and ask the agent to write back what was verified when a session stops.
  • Memory with provenance. A memory about code carries the repository, commit and branch it was learned at, and recall marks each one live, not on HEAD, or orphaned.
  • Recall that fuses search by meaning and by exact words, with an optional reranker whose calibrated floor can answer “nothing relevant”.
  • Handoffs between your machines, a dependency graph with blast radius, compartments you share on purpose, and behaviours: rules you record with a check that has to tell examples from violations.
  • The operator console (antumbra-tui) and a read-only web dashboard.
  • Experts, still experimental: training and serving them needs an NVIDIA GPU and a source build.

Known limits

  • Setup does not start the reranker. Recall works without it, but cannot say “nothing relevant”.
  • The server advertises all 33 tools; the smaller agent profile is a server setting that setup does not apply yet.
  • Claude Code is the only agent tested so far.
